Working with the creative team at Mother London, the UK’s largest independent advertising agency, to create ‘Pimm’s Bold’, a bespoke typeface for Pimm’s, a gin-based liqueur famously known for it’s association with ‘the British summertime’, for their marketing collateral and in particular the launch of a new variant, ‘Blackberry and Elderflower’.
By using the characters – P I M and S – of the Pimm’s original wordmark, and material from their archive as reference; formal characteristics such as weight, width, counter-size, terminals etc. and any further subtleties that could be reiterated across all forms, were utilised to create a set of consistent characters.
